Series 196 of record group 58-17 consists of a plat of the Port Sanilac and Tuscola State Road (established by Public Act 217 of 1861) as surveyed in 1861 by D.A. Pettibone, and originally collected by the Michigan Lands Division. Shows ditches, canal ways, hardwood land, mills, houses, schoolhouses, and intersecting railroads and other plank roads. Documents portions of the road from Bridgeport (Saginaw County) through Tuscola County, to Tuscola/Sanilac county border (T.11-12 N., R.12 E.). The scale is 8 in. : 1 mile.
